Rustic Chic

The definition of rustic chic can mean something different for each bride. From my research, I have come to define rustic chic as a mix of vintage elegance with a tad bit country thrown in. Rustic chic is all about mixing nature with polished details. Most rustic chic weddings take place either in a barn or in a field, anywhere where you get the raw beauty of nature. Even if there is no ballroom, it does not mean you can’t decorate your venue like one. You can hang drapery from the rafters of the barn and for lighting, you can use gorgeous vintage chandeliers or hanging circular candle holders wrapped in moss.  Even if your venue is a field, you can hang wiring above the tables and center a single chandelier for a touch of vintage elegance. Though the chandelier will not give light, it is still beautiful. For centerpieces at your tables, how about birdcages with candles in a wooden box of roses, tulips, dusty lacey, and wax flowers. Or if you don’t want too many flowers, how about a wooden candle-holder surrounded by rose petals, tea lights, and mini tarnished vases of baby’s breath? If chandeliers don’t give off enough light, you can always add white Christmas lights and big mason jars with candles. It’ll make the entire barn glow so you and your guests feel like you’re dancing in the moonlight. Wine barrels are a great decor for rustic weddings. They can be used to hold your floral arrangements or as tables to create a dessert bar for your guests. For a more raw way to incorporate nature, using tree branches as vases for you flowers is the way to go. If you’re from the south, you can even add some cotton plants in there.
